Okay. I give. I've read the first book.And I really don't understand why it's so popular.Can I get some legitamate reasons these books are so popular?List of why I DON'T like it:1. It's badly written. The characters are all one-dimensional.2. It's predictable. By Chapter 4, it's pretty clear where this book (not to mention, the entire series) is going.3. It does NOT stay true to any of the old vampire legends. Meyer claims to be a big fan of the old tales: And yet the only thing her vampires can't do is keep a relationship. But they can go in sunlight. I mean, the whole point of "Dracula" was to keep children from going out at night (so they wouldn't get hurt).The Harry Potter hype was understandable. I just read the book the things they carried and have a few questions:1. Why does the author decide to switch from using the word carry to hump in the first chapter?2. Genesis states that God created Adam and Eve from dust. Adam and Eve then gave birth to Cain and Abel. After that whole "fiasco", the very next chapter talks about Cain and his wife..... where did his wife come from? If Adam and Eve also had daughters, and that's who the "wife" was, then isn't that incest? Isn't incest a sin?And what about Noah, his sons and their wives? If they repopulated the earth after the flood, wouldn't that mean that all of their children were cousins, hence even more incestry?I'm so confused and that's only the first book of the Bible!
